This artwork is a tribute to my Nhanda ancestry, tracing back through four generations to my apical ancestor, Granny Jilba. Each large circle represents a generation of strong Nhanda women in my family - custodians of our stories, language, and cultural knowledge, carried and passed down with strength, care, and resilience
Scattered throughout the artwork are Pilaru, the delicate pink everlasting flowers found throughout Nhanda Country in the Midwest. These blooms not only connect the piece to land but also inspired the name of my business.
