Commissioned by the WA Department of Health, this piece represents five key pillars of Aboriginal health: Culture, Leadership, Working Together, Truth-Telling, and Indigenous Knowledge.
At the centre is Cultural Determinants - the belief that culture equals health, grounded in connection to Country, family, kinship, and community.
The colour palette reflects the diverse lands and waters across Western Australia, acknowledging the department’s statewide footprint.
Connection to Country is central to Indigenous health, and I wanted that to be deeply felt in this work. Two sections also honour ourDreamtime and pay respect to our ancestors, whose presence continues to guide us.
